SANTO DOMINGO — The Tigres del Licey are wasting no time preparing for the 2026-27 LIDOM season. In a clear show of organizational depth and ambition, the 24-time Dominican champions have deployed a high-powered group of executives and scouts across Major League Baseball’s spring training complexes in Arizona and Florida.
Leading the charge is Audo Vicente, Vice President of Operations and General Manager of the Tigres del Licey. Vicente is currently in Arizona alongside key members of the club’s baseball operations staff: Fabio Herrera, Manuel Rodríguez, and Gary Peralta.
Herrera serves as the Licey’s Director of International Operations while holding a similar role with the Kansas City Royals. Rodríguez, who works in international operations for the Chicago Cubs, doubles as the Tigres’ Director of Analytics. Peralta, an assistant in the Milwaukee Brewers’ international department, acts as the club’s Director of Scouting.
Meanwhile, in Florida, the Licey have Rafael Mateo (International Scout for the Seattle Mariners and the team’s Director of Planning) and Johnny Pérez (now with the Kansas City Royals and serving as the Licey’s Director of Baseball Operations).
“These visits are part of our ongoing process of evaluating and tracking talent that could impact our roster next season,” Vicente said.
A team source added: “Having personnel stationed at different complexes gives us a much broader view of the available talent pool. It’s a critical part of building our roster for the upcoming campaign.”
The heavy presence of Licey executives in big-league camps underscores the club’s sophisticated approach to talent acquisition. By leveraging the MLB connections of its front-office staff, the Tigres are positioning themselves to identify potential reinforcements — whether through free agency, trades, or player development pipelines — well ahead of the 2026-27 LIDOM season.
This level of coordination highlights the modern, MLB-influenced structure the blue-and-white franchise has built in recent years, blending international scouting expertise with advanced analytics and on-the-ground evaluation during spring training.
